So long as you're patched up (or playing the Steam version), all you need now is to install one pre-requisite, and one quality-of-life mod. Many mods also recommend adding the command line options ' -skipstartup -developer -developerkeys' to the end of your shortcut, or Steam Launch Options (right click on the game in your library and look in properties) - no reason not to, really.
